Who We Are
Bassett Feeding, Inc. is a commercial feedlot located west of Bassett,
Nebraska in the Nebraska Sandhills. The Sandhills are a major ranching
area noted for its plentiful grass. In the last 30 years, because of abundant
water and center pivot irrigation, it has also developed into a major
corn producing region.
Mike Shonsey, a native Nebraskan and fourth generation cattle feeder is
president and majority shareholder of the feedlot. Ray Carr, the general
manager and part owner came to Bassett in 1989 after managing two large
and successful feedlots in western Kansas.
We have been custom feeding and working with ranchers on retained ownership
since 1973 and have grown to accommodate 14,000 head. We are here to work
hard to give your cattle the extra care they deserve.

IDEAL SIZE
We are
big enough to have all the purchasing and technological advantages of
the biggest yards, yet small enough to know each customer and give their
cattle special attention. Many feeders feel our size is ideal and the
most efficient.
DEPENDABLE AND
TRUSTWORTHY
We have
fed for many of our customers for over 20 years, and they just wouldn't
feed with us if we didn't do a competitive job, or we weren't honest and
reliable. We are happy to answer any questions and provide references.
Our key people and organization are financially sound and well respected.
Besides Nebraska, we also feed for customers from several other states
including North and South Dakota, Iowa, Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, Missouri,
Oklahoma, and California.
THE TEAM -- EXPERIENCED!
KNOWLEDGEABLE!
We have an experienced and capable team who know their jobs depend
on getting results for our customers. In addition, we employ two of the
best and most respected consultants in the industry who help us provide
our customers the best and most up-to-date feed and health programs available.
